Suzie Thoraval grew up in an under-resourced home caring for a single mother with significant mental health challenges, put herself through Law and Arts at the University of Melbourne, and built exactly the career she had planned. Prestigious law firm. International experience. Status and financial security. Everything growing up without money had made her reach for. And then she found it did not feel like freedom at all. She moved into executive leadership and governance, sat on boards, led large regulatory reform projects, and on her 50th birthday felt a longing she could not ignore. She resigned the next day. Today she is a leadership strategist and coach, working with leaders in high stakes environments to build the resilience to keep going when everything around them is shifting. She is, she says, the coach she needed when she was in those rooms herself.
