Hello.

I’m Gray, the owner and principal photographer behind Simply Gray Photography.

I am a portrait photographer working out of a residential studio in Glen Iris, Victoria. My style has evolved over the last 14 years, but what stays the same is I photograph with great passion, heart and no judgement.

As a mother of 3 amazing young adults (little kids in the photo above), I understand how quickly our children and family grow up. Personally, I know there is not enough hours in the day to capture and process all the beautiful moments we want to hold on to. For this reason, I am passionate about helping families capture their special memories and creating beautiful portraits for them to enjoy now and for decades to come.

And as our children grow, it is time for us to shine again too. My belief is we are all beautiful and why not make our photographs show it too! Let me show you what the world sees in you.

I look forward to welcoming you to our Glen Iris Studios.

10 Facts About Me:

  • I love coffee and cinnamon. Together and alone.

  • I was born in a small town in upstate New York, only 60 miles north of Manhattan and met my Aussie husband at work in Chicago while living in Washington DC.

  • I moved to Australia when I was 30 in 2002. You can do the math of my age now.

  • I love to ski. I used to run. I don’t love the gym, but I go as I need to keep my 50+ year old body strong. Pilates is my friend.

  • I used to be fluent in Swedish and German. Now I can order a coffee in both languages and for that I am happy.

  • I am self-publishing my first book in 2023. And I am hoping it won’t be my last.

  • I have gone from a size 10 to a size 6 then up to a size 14. I know my self-worth is far more important than my weight. But I know it is hard not to get stuck in your own head. Thank goodness I know how to pose for the camera to get around being hard on myself. I can teach you too. And make you laugh in the process.

  • I have a dog named Ivy. If you like dogs you may meet her. If you don’t like furry friends, she is happy in her kennel.

  • And finally. I love being a photographer and I can’t wait to welcome you into the studio!
