Sam works in a senior leadership role at Kinaway, the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce in Victoria, and is building Blak Pearl Coaching and Consulting on the side. For 25 years she followed her husband Matt, a soldier deployed to East Timor, Afghanistan, and Iraq, moving to a new town every two years and building a life from scratch each time. It was working at Camp Quality alongside children with cancer that first led her toward coaching, and she went on to complete a Masters of Coaching with no formal education behind her beforehand.

Her message to other women: don't measure yourself against others, you are smart enough, you deserve it, whatever it is.
