A Wise Woman - Jo-Anne Zappia
Jo-Anne came to Simply Gray to capture herself and her beautiful long grey hair before she had to start cancer treatment. Jo-Anne, a doctor herself, knew that once treatment started, she would lose her hair. It would grow back after treatment, but who knew what it would look like? We decided that a Wise Women session was perfect for Jo-Anne. We celebrated the amazing, beautiful woman she is. A woman with outstanding strength and a love of life.
When I started working, I got the professional bob. It was the sensible haircut to have. Then COVID-19 hit. Going to the hairdressers was not an option. It gave me the opportunity to let my hair grow. I soon remembered how much I liked having long hair. My natural wave of grey came through and I really embraced it. I felt a bit rebellious and I felt bold. It was, “Take me, or leave me, this is ME and I am happy the way I am!”
