The Graduate 2023 - Albert Wong

Year 12 is a massive milestone for both child and parents and let’s face it, the entire family. It seems like nearly everything stops for this final year, so we can give them all they need to make it to exams and then get through those tough few weeks.

Before that, there were many years spent either at one school or several schools to get them to this point. Many hours for the child on school grounds and for many parents, they also get to know every nook and cranny.

And that is the case with our Graduate, Albert. While Albert enjoyed his school years, his mum and dad were very dedicated school parents, school representatives and even parent association president. So we thought it would be fitting to have Albert’s Graduate session at his school, Scotch College in the famous Year 12 Candy Coat.

I think on the one hand we can’t wait to see the end of the high school years, but we know … after they are gone, we will truly miss the precious years. I say this from personal experience.

After his photo session, we had a little interview with Albert.

THE INTERVIEW

Question: What was your favourite subject in school?

Albert: Chemistry.

Question: Your favourite extracurricular activity?

Albert: Lawn Bowls - I was on the Firsts Team. I also enjoyed being part of the Senior School Drama Production on the Backstage Crew.

Question: Do you have any advice for future year 12s?

Albert: Don't give up and don't lose faith - keep thinking about your end goal.

Question: If you had a motto, what would it be?

Albert: Always try your best.

Question: What’s in store for 2024?

Albert: I am taking a GAP year to relax and think about what subject streams to pursue next year. I hope to do a bit of travel, volunteer work and get my Ps too.

Question: After that?

Albert: In 2025 I am going to do a Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University and then hope to do further postgraduate studies.

Question: What are you looking forward to at Uni?

Albert: I can’t wait for new experiences and meeting new people.

Thank you Albert and family for entrusting us to capture these special moments. We wish you all the best for 2024 and the years ahead.
